Safe Driving Tips
Considering the high accidental deaths on roads, specially on
freeways, it has once again brought the attention towards the
necessity of safe driving. Besides, crowded lanes could also be
equally dangerous. Following are general safe driving tips.
1) Always wear seat belts:
Fastening the seat belts has become compulsory while driving.
It is punishable crime in most of the countries. Seat belts saves
life. It holds the person and gives stability to the body. In
case of accident, seat belts holds the body jumping out of the
car. Sit straight and drive to remain alert.
2) Remain Alert:
While driving, you should be attentive. Keep an eye on the road
and your fellow drivers on the road. Develop the habit of looking
at rear and side view mirrors. Follow the lanes, go with steady
speed and keep the reasonable distance. Avoid moving bumper-to-bumper.
Avoid high speed on the crowded lanes. This will help everyone
to save them from any sort of collision. Use right or left signals
before changing the lanes.
3) Don't talk on mobile or cellular phone while driving. Talking
on cellular phone distracts your attention form driving. Keep
your calls short or if it is too necessary then kindly get out
of the traffic, park your vehicle and then use mobile phone.
4) Avoid heated arguments with other drivers on the road. If
you think someone is trying to be "too smart" then "let
them go" is the best policy by just givign them the way or
changing the lane. Don't give them the ugly looks or pass any
comments which further flare-up the tempers.
5) Take precautions during adverse weather situations such as
heavy rains and snow falls. Roads become slippery and chances
are, vehicles could skid more often. Go slow and maintain the
fair distance.
6) Last but not the least, this important safe driving advice
comes form the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
Should never put the baby in the front passenger seat of any vehicle
with a front passenger airbag unless there is any system available
for disable switch. The initial force of a deploying airbag pushing
its way through the instrument panel and into the back of the
infant seat can kill a baby. Children below the age of 12 should
sit in the back seat. If its too necessary to have child seated
in front, then fasten the seat belts and push the seat as back
as it could go. This will certainly help child from sudden strike
of the safety aribag in the event of car crash.
